Cheese cake e Gocce di Memoria - Cheese cake and Drops of Memory

Quanto tempo e'passato dall'ultimo post! ebbene, cucino poco poco ultimamente, in compenso suono e ascolto molta musica. Nuova e vecchia.

Buon appetito!

These new tears are drops of memory
We are souls in an indelible history
The countless times you'll be looking for me
In my empty rooms

Inestimable and elusive
Your absence is mine, is part of me
We are indivisible, we are alike and fragile
And we are already so far

With the freeze in my mind I'm running to you
We are in the same harsh fate that will change both of us
We're just waiting for a sign, a destiny, an eternity
And tell me how I can do to reach you now
To reach you now, to reach. You.

We are droplets of a past that can never return anymore
Time betrayed us, it is elusive
I will narrate about you,
and for you I will invent
What we have not

The promises are broken as rain on us
Words are tired but I know that you will listen to me
We look forward to another trip, a destiny, a truth
And tell me how I can reach you now
how can I do to reach you now
How long since the last post! Well, I cook very little lately, on the other hand I spent increasing amounts of time playing music and listening to music. New and old music . And it is great, since I have spent the last two years without listening almost anything. Music always helps to "feel", to get in touch with emotions, so listening and playing it, well ... a sign of the times

Here is this wonderful song. Giorgia, a very famous italian singer, despite the complitely worth name (well, I ve been called G. as my mother loved the "Georgia on my mind" by Ray Charles..) is not my my thing. But this song is wonderful. And today makes me think of those who have lost someone precious, which happened to everyone sooner or later. Maybe that 's why this song is so incredibly touching. Or, less drastically, someone faraway. Giorgia wrote the song on the occasion of the birthday of her great friend (and ex partner, when he died), he himself an italian singer, gone in a car accident...sigh.

This song was also the final soundtrack of a movie I liked a lot ("La finestra di fronte"), and I love also this videoclip. Simple and intense. I like Giorgia walking on this bridge in Rome for all the length of the track, caressed and accompanied by the intense looks of others, on the bridge, who read some of her lyrics and kind of "understand"what is going on, and I like the way she looks back to them once the bridge and the song are over, and the way she smiles while she's maybe letting her past go together with the lyrics sheet, drowning into the river.

Despite the melancholy of this beautiful and touching song, the period is very nice, indeed, and I feel sooooo good ...! everything in me feels the arriving spring , I feel happy and well, not just Lazarus but anyway :) To celebrate, here's a cheese cake according to the veeeery classical method. The classic cheese cake in New York. I'm shy to put here the recipe, because there are millions of versions on the internet, but Oh well..... I ll put it and who cares. So that, I will have it recorded for the next time I want to do it :)

(awful picture, and not really a "decorated" cake!!! but I did it in a hurry so ...next time I will care for appearance!)

INGREDIENTS: (26 cm mold)

800 g cream cheese
 3 eggs + 1 egg yolk
200 gr sugar
the juice of half a lemon

 for the base:
500 grams of biscuits
 100 g butter
1 tablespoon of sugar

Crumble the biscuits with melted butter and wrok it with sugar. Make a biscuit layer on the base of the pan and place in the refrigerator to compact. Mix all the other ingredients with a whisk, so as not to leave lumps of cheese, and pour on the baking sheet, on top of the biscuit dough . It will be quite liquid, but is not a problem.Bake at low oven for about 20 minutes (about 150-160 degrees). Keep in refrigerator at least overnight. Enjoy your meal!ps. decorations above can go according to fantasy, from berries to the drawstring of strawberries and everything else ... but me, I go crazy for the cheese cake as it is, so that I do not put anything on! :)
